Frequently Asked Questions
How long is each therapy session?
Sessions are held once a week and are 45 minutes long. Multiple sessions are also offered.
Are you conducting virtual or in person?
I am currently offering both virtual and in-person sessions. Virtual sessions would be held via zoom.
What is your cancellation policy?
There is a 48 hour cancellation policy. If a cancellation occurs within 48 hours, you are responsible for the full fee of the session. Please note that insurances do not reimburse for cancellations. If our schedules allow and you reschedule a session within 7 days you will not be responsible for payment of the missed session. I allow up to 8 cancellations per calendar year for which there is no make up session. Therapy is a process and missing sessions affects this process. Cancellations in excess of 8 can often have important meanings worth discussing.
Do you accept insurance?
I do accept Cigna and Aetna. For all other insurances I am an out-of-network provider. This means that your insurance company will cover a portion of the fee. The portion is dictated by your insurance plan. I will provide you with paperwork for your insurance company so you're able to obtain out-of-network reimbursement.
Please check with your insurance company prior to sessions to confirm your out-of-network coverage for outpatient behavioral health. The CPT code you may be asked to provide is 90834. Your insurance company will confirm if you have met your deductible and the amount for your co-insurance (your portion of the payment).

Being an out-of-network provider means I get to spend more time focused on each person. It also serves to protect confidential information from being shared with insurance companies.
How long will therapy take?
The length of treatment is guided by a variety of factors, including the severity and duration of the problem and the frequency of sessions.
What can I expect from the consultation process?
I conduct a 10-15 min phone consultation. If we find we are a good fit we will then schedule a session. The initial session is designed to better understand your needs and goals for therapy. Over the course of the consultation process, I aim to learn as much as I can about your presenting challenges, family history, relationships and previous therapies. At the end of the consultation, you will be given feedback on themes/patterns that emerged and a recommendation for treatment.
If we decide I’m not the right fit to help you, I can refer you to someone who can work with your needs, issues, and finances.
